Pam Hall

Another great life story...thanks Pam!!

After NHHS, I did go to Pierce College for a while, but frankly…working and earning money was much more enjoyable to me than continuing my studies. I started out working for the Los Angeles Unified School District, it was easy to get hired on because my Dad worked there (gotta love nepotism!), I did really enjoy all the different places I worked within LAUSD, and even had a chance to work with Mrs. Roberts (the admin who worked with Mrs. Van Horn and Ms. Sator in the Magnet office) and that was a total kick…she insisted I call her Kathryn, but I just couldn’t. She’s been “Mrs. Roberts” for way to many years.

In 1989 I met the love of my life, Brian, and we decided we couldn’t afford to live in Southern California. On a trip out to Las Vegas to celebrate Brian’s birthday, we checked out houses on a lark, and ended up buying a house that weekend. So we canceled all our wedding plans in California, moved to Vegas, and made new wedding plans. We moved to Vegas in February of 1991 and we married May 2, 1992. We added a son, David, in December 1998. We had a second son, Matthew, stillborn in August of 2001.

I spent 12 years working for AT&T and AT&T Wireless Services here in Vegas…I started as a Customer Service Rep and worked my way up to a Financial Analyst before being laid off in July of 2003. Being laid off was the best thing that ever happened. It’s allowed me to be a stay-at-home mom for David, including helping out in his class regularly. When my Dad passed away, my Mom deteriorated pretty significantly and it became apparent that I would have to take care of her, so she lives with us, as well as 2 dogs (great dane/Rhodesian ridgeback mix named Scooby-Doo, and a Border Collie named Daphne) and a couple of white mice (Vanilla and Marshmallow).

I’m avidly pursuing my photography and am doing some freelance stuff…the plan is to open a studio in the future, but that will have to wait a while.
